7 Reasons Our Naturally Sourced Ingredients Give Your Skin the Best Care

At Arami, we do not believe that your skin needs complex ingredients to thrive so we use simple and natural ingredients.  Here’s what you should know about what’s in our products.

  1. Raw African Black Soap: This ageless beauty cleanser has stood the test of time. It is made from: plantain and palm leaves, cocoa pod, palm kernel oil, shea butter and cocoa butter. The plantain and palm leaves are high in vitamins and minerals that are vital for our skin. Cocoa pod has antioxidants that fight off premature ageing. Palm kernel oil has a high content of lauric acid which is a potent antibacterial agent. It also helps in cell regeneration. Shea butter and shea nut oil are super rich in vitamin A, E, and K, and essential fatty acids known to moisturise skin and fade dark marks. In general, our raw African black soap is suitable for all skin types (except very sensitive skin) and combats acne.

  2. Rose water: Another ingredient that works to control acne by getting rid of the excess oil. Rose water refreshes the skin and functions as a toner. It is unique because unlike other toners, it settles into your pores and provides mild hydration. It is high in antioxidants,  neutralising free radicals to keep your skin healthy. It also regulates your skin’s pH level and suits sensitive skin.

  3. Coconut oil: The famed multi-tasker that works to suppress skin inflammation of any kind as it has excellent antibacterial and anti-fungal properties. Coconut oil repairs damaged skin tissues and reduces dandruff. It can also be used as a natural highlighter and moisturiser to achieve glowing skin. It is soothing and nourishing to dry skin and cuticles.

  4. Shea butter: Beloved by many, shea butter comes from the seeds of the shea tree. It is rich in vitamin A and E, and provides the skin with essential fatty acids. It also provides mild UV protection with a natural SPF of 6-10. Its cinnamic acid content makes it anti-inflammatory. Shea butter aids the skin in natural collagen production, and contains acids that nourish the skin to prevent it from drying. With long term use, reports have shown that it softens the skin and reduces wrinkles.

  5. Brown Sugar: A super exfoliator with small molecules that absorb easily into skin pores while loosening the bonds of skin cells, and promoting new cell growth. Brown sugar moisturises the skin by drawing moisture from the environment. Its soft texture makes it perfect for your skin, infusing into your skin pores to give you a natural glow. It also lightens the skin and reduces the effect of tanning.

  6. Honey: The use of honey has been significant in history with the earliest record of beekeeping dating as far back as 7000 BC in Spain. As you’ll find with the rest of our ingredients, honey is very versatile. Pure honey has a shelf life of 2-5 years which means that as long as you don’t mix any other substances into your honey, it can last you a long time. Honey lightens scars, clears sunburn and brightens your complexion. It is an excellent pore cleanser as it draws impurities from the skin.

  7. Rhassoul Clay: Incredibly rich in minerals that originate from Morocco, rhassoul clay (also known as red clay, red moroccan clay and oxide clay) is nature’s gift that evens out skin tone, and minimises blemishes and blackheads without drying the skin. It also reduces breakouts, detoxifies the skin and improves skin elasticity.
