7 Naturally Sourced Ingredients for Your Skin

At Arami, we do not believe that your skin needs complex ingredients to thrive so we use simple and natural ingredients. Here’s what you should know about what’s in our products:

African Black Soap: This ageless beauty cleanser is made from: plantain and palm leaves, cocoa pod, palm kernel oil, shea butter and cocoa butter. The plantain and palm leaves are high in vitamins and minerals that are vital to the skin. Cocoa pod has antioxidants that fight off premature aging and palm kernel oil has a high content of lauric acid which is a potent antibacterial agent and shea butter and cocoa butter are rich in essential fatty acids known to deeply moisturise skin and aid in cell regeneration.

Rose Water: Rose water refreshes the skin and regulates your skin’s pH level. It saturates your pores and is gentle enough for sensitive skin. It is also high in antioxidants that neutralise free radicals to keep your skin healthy.

Coconut Oil: The famed multi-tasker that works to relieve skin inflammation due to its excellent antibacterial and antifungal properties. Coconut oil repairs damaged skin tissues, reduces dandruff, and is soothing and nourishing to dry skin and cuticles.

Shea Butter: Beloved by many, shea butter comes from the seeds of the shea tree. It is rich in vitamin A and E, and provides the skin with essential fatty acids. It also provides mild UV protection with a natural SPF of 6-10 and aids the skin in natural collagen production. With long term use, studies have shown that shea butter can help reduce signs of ageing.

Brown Sugar: A super exfoliator with small molecules that absorb easily into skin while loosening the bonds of skin cells and promoting new cell growth. Brown sugar moisturises the skin by drawing moisture from the environment, goes on the skin and gives you a natural glow.

Honey: The use of honey has been significant in history with the earliest record of beekeeping dating as far back as 7000 BC in Spain. As you’ll find with the rest of our ingredients, honey is very versatile. Pure honey has a shelf life of 2-5 years which means that as long as you don’t mix any other substances into your honey, it can last you a long time. Honey brightens scars and relieves sunburn. It is also an excellent pore cleanser as it draws impurities from the skin.

Rhassoul Clay: Incredibly rich in minerals that originate from Morocco, rhassoul clay (also known as red clay, red Moroccan clay and oxide clay) is nature’s gift that evens out skin tone, and minimises blemishes and blackheads without drying the skin. It also reduces breakouts, detoxifies the skin and improves skin elasticity.
